Available for quiet fellow. Share 900 sq. ft., large, bright, older, modest, 3rd fl. apt. with large windows, wood floors & balcony with friendly, mature students. Compact, semi-private, dorm-style space available. Laundry room is in basement. The apt. is furnished in a simple, efficient, aesthetic design. The sleep/study area is small, choose between 150 sq. ft. ($350, loft bed), or 170 sq. ft. ($400). Space has a bed, desk, closet, bookcase, dresser, lamps, computer (XP), high speed internet and phone. The Ikea closet accomodates a basic set of clothing. Sorry there's no extra storage space. We have a focussed atmosphere. We share the whole apt. An INTERNATIONAL STUDENT may like it here because you can improve your ENGLISH during conversations. I'm a recent graduate student in Education and Ecology and used to teach ESL. We each cook once a week for the 3 of us. We share groceries (required). We each list the foods we like and shop accordingly. We are usually omnivores but woud like to move more toward more vegetarianism. So, if you're vegetarian or vegan, you are very welcome as we can learn from you. We eat whenever we can due to busy schedules but enjoy sharing meals when schedules jive. We're a one-minute walk to frequent bus #3. It's 20-30 minutes transit to downtown and 35 minutes via frequent express bus #99 to UBC during peak hours but calculate 10 min. more for rainy days or off-peak hours. We socialize outside home only, to respect study schedules. There are many inexpensive, ethnic, eating places and coffee shops very close by for meeting friends in. If you would like to help out with computer tutoring (general literacy, Microsoft Office + ?), gardening, simple cooking, basic baking, housework or gardening, we can do an exchange and/or reduce the rent somewhat. The home language is English. NO SMOKING ANYWHERE, inside or outside, no drinking, no drugs, 100% respectful language. Sorry, no couples or children.
